The Purposeful Provision book is a full 420 page guide on making your provision truly work for your learners. You'll learn to tune into what's unique about your children, how to design provision that really resonates with them and how to ensure learning progresses through each part of your setting.
This book is written for those working with children aged 0-7 in a play-based group setting.
The Purposeful Provision book has 7 chapters. We begin by exploring the Curriculum and how this should be built. Even if you have a curriculum in place I highly recommend that tou delve into this chapter and try to make changes to yours where possible. Then we look at what Continuous Provision is, followed by 'The Movement Zone' where we go DEEP into how to bring about more opportunities for physical development. Then it's 'The Messy Zone' which goes how to move on from just bog standard sand and water trays. Next comes 'The Home Zone' which focusses on bringing roleplay to life in a meaningful way for your learners. Then in Chapter six we explore 'Moving Learning Forwards' through a universal framework you can use with all learners. Finally in Chapter 7 there's the 'Slow CPD' section with 10 challenges to support you and your team to put Purposeful Provision into Practice.
I've designed this book for use in group settings that cover children from Birth right through to the end of Key Stage 1.
