Marking Marks: Stoke on Trent

The journey to writing is not a straight line! Children need a wealth of skills before they can even begin to make marks. This course is all about developing those foundations. Exploring what skills children need and how we as adults can support in develop these. Through this 2 hour course we will explore:

Scheme and Schema and how they develop (with particular focus on writing).

Symbology and early mark making- how these emerge, why and what we as practitioners can do to support (with practical activities)!

The stages of early mark making.

How to support fine and gross motor skills.

What kinaesthesia is why it is important for us to support this + how!

This is a hands on session with a wealth of resources and activities.

All delegates can receive a training certificate (via email) for this event. 

This training is designed for staff working with 2-5 year olds including ECTs, RQTs, New to Early Years staff & those wishing to deepen their understanding of early mark making.

Please note a minimum number of delegates are required for this event to run. This event may be cancelled 48 hours before if insufficient tickets are sold.
